The Grand Rapids Promise Zone is a scholarship and support program for students who live within the City of Grand Rapids and attend and graduate from an eligible high school. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, fees, and textbooks at Grand Rapids Community College, and after earning an associate degree, students have the opportunity to transfer to Ferris State University or Grand Valley State University with additional financial support to continue pursuing a bachelor’s degree. In addition to financial assistance, the Promise Zone provides individualized support to help students reach their academic and career goals. Whether students plan to transfer to a four-year university or enter the workforce, the Grand Rapids Promise Zone provides opportunities for every student, every interest, and every future.
